Author: TireDotCode Editorial Teamβ€’Updated: August 2026β€’Step-by-Step Maintenance
⚑ QUICK CHECKLIST

Check your tire pressure when tires are cold (parked for at least 3 hours). Locate the recommended PSI on the sticker inside your driver-side door jamb, press an accurate digital pressure gauge onto the valve stem, and adjust air to match placard specifications.

Step-by-Step Measurement Protocol

Step 1: Ensure Tires Are Cold

Check tires before driving or at least 3 hours after the vehicle has been parked.

Step 2: Read Your Vehicle Door Jamb Placard

Locate the yellow/white sticker on the driver door frame for factory cold PSI specs.

Step 3: Remove Valve Stem Cap & Attach Gauge

Unscrew the plastic cap and press the pressure gauge firmly onto the stem until the hiss stops.

Step 4: Adjust Air Level & Re-Cap

Add air if below spec; press the center pin to release air if over spec. Replace cap securely.
