Open the driver door and check the B-pillar or door edge for a label showing tire size and “cold tire pressure.” Copy the front and rear PSI exactly; they may not match.
Where US regulations place the label
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 requires the placard in a location visible to the driver, normally the driver-side B-pillar. Vehicles without a B-pillar may use the driver-door edge or another permitted nearby location. The owner’s manual remains the fallback reference.

Use the rear value separately; do not average it with the front.

Why the measured PSI may differ
Pressure changes with tire temperature, and driving warms the tire. Check when cold—NHTSA describes this as a vehicle that has not been driven for at least three hours—and compare the reading with the placard. If a tire repeatedly loses pressure, have the tire, valve, and wheel inspected.
